One of our clients recently said that she had doubts about coming along to her consultation with us because she felt she was 'the wrong shape'. She didn't look like a standard model; she had curves, she wasn't over 5' 8". Put simply she thought she wasn't the right size for made to measure clothes.
So what is the right size when it comes to made to measure? The great news is, there isn't one!
But we totally understand our clients concerns. Although we don't use conventional sizes on our sample styles, we do have 12 different 'sizes' in the Distinctively Me range. So whether you're an Alice, a Tilly or a Grace we can make you clothes that will make you feel a million dollars. We work with your shape to create your own clothes size, tailored made for you. Your very own Size Me.
"I'm so glad I found Distinctively Me. I have a large bottom, a smaller waist, short legs and big calves, so finding a pair of trousers to fit me is a nightmare. Jill and her wonderful tailor John have changed that process for me...it isn't throwaway fashion, it's classic and timeless with exceptional service." Ronali.
Women come in many shapes and sizes
'Off the peg' clothes are made to a standard cut but no woman is the same shape. We are all too differently shaped for off the peg clothes to fit perfectly. Your shape is perfect, it's the clothes that aren't!
The made to measure process involves us adapting and refining a sample pattern to your shape and size so that you get a piece that fits you like a glove.
Women come in all shapes and sizes but off the peg clothes don't. Every body shape is unique; petite or tall, slim or curvy, apple or pear shaped. We don't fit a standardised shape so neither should our clothes.
