We source fabrics of the highest quality. We try and source as much as possible from the UK, but also buy from Italy which is renowned for quality. Our range of fabrics are chosen to both look and feel fabulous. Our colour range is extensive - we have a great range of neutrals - black, navy, grey, burgundy and also have a range of more vibrant colours which are influenced by rich jewel colours - blues, reds, maroons. We believe we have colours to suit all complexions and personal style. We are constantly adding and updating our range of fabrics, so if you have something in particular in mind then we are more than happy to try and source it for you.
There are still very masculine connotations around these types of fabric, but they work beautifully in tailored clothes for women when the cut and style is right. Our suiting is from Italy and has a slight stretch which makes it incredibly comfortable and versatile. It makes beautiful trousers, jackets and skirts. Trousers made in suiting are washable at 30c delicate wash.
Lots of women think they can't wear wool - I was one of them. I still can't wear low quality wool. Our wool fabric was woven specifically to our requirement in terms of weight and colour is superfine, in fact lots of our customers think it is silk. The fineness of the wool means it has a silky feel next to the skin and drapes beautifully. It is a great choice for trousers, jackets, skirts and dresses.
We buy our boucle, or tweed, from a mill in Cumbria. The company has been producing the highest quality fabric for fashion companies across the world for over 100 years. In fact the founder was introduced to Coco Chanel in 1924 and their website includes a photo of Coco Chanel wearing their tweed. The mill produces produces short runs and so the range changes ever 3-6 months and the choice is amazing.
Boucle makes the world famous Chanel inspired jackets and also looks great as a skirt or dress.
Our leather supplier started their business in 1998 following redundancy as a result of the closure of one of the world largest lambskin tanneries. We love the fact that they only use skins that are a by product of the food industry. Our lamb nappa leather is super soft and has a natural drape, it comes in 70 different colours.
At the moment we use leather to make skirts or as lapel detail on our jackets. We will be looking to move into jackets and trousers in the future.
We buy our silk velvet from a Yorkshire based company which has supplied luxury velvet to the fashion industry for over 50 years. It comes in over 20 colours and has the most luxurious feel. It makes beautiful jackets, as well as dresses and a wide leg or flare style trouser.
Our flannel comes from British Mills and is a great choice for the cooler months and has a soft brushed feel. It makes a great alternative to denim especially in a kick flare trouser. We have a range of jewel colours as well as our best selling grey. Flannel also makes great blazers.
